Hungarian cusine
Temperate zone is ruled in Hungary, which influences our eating habits. Northern peoples eat more meat, and Southern peoples eat more fruit and noodle. These eating costums are effective mixedly. Our country is a cereal cultivating country. We have some rivers, due to it the main basic material is wheat, corn, potato, tomato, onion, apple, fish, cow, pig. There were several wars in Hungarian territories thus natives lived in huge poverty, for this reason, soup, bread, potato and vegetable dish were often eaten. Hungarian special dishes ensure distinguished place the Hungarian gastronomy in international competitions.
Hungarian typical spices and seasoning vegetables not only are there red pepper and pepper but also there are onion and tomato. Not only are soups made of them such as goulash and fishsoup, but also stew is made of them.
Hungarians eat any kinds of food on weekdays, but at weekends particular meat is eaten, being around 12 o’clock.A lunh consists of soup, second course with sourness, and perhaps dessert. There are a few characteristic feast meals. At Christmas, people can eat plain cake, fishsoup, fondant, and jelly. At Carnival doughnut, and at Easter ham and egg are eaten.
My eating habits are the same as an average Hungarian. For breakfast and for dinner I eat bread with cheese-cream, cheese, and ham. I consume an average lunch, such as soup, afterwards meat or noodle. Unfortunately I don’t eat enough vegetable and fruit, but it would be elementary for my organism. Speaking for myself, I prefer two of Hungarian specialities: pancake and curd rod plunged into chocolate. The more houses are, the more habits are. There are different eating habits in our country; for example curdly noodle is fancied either with bacon, or with sugar.
One of my favourite dishes is layered potatoes with sour cream. Ingredients are 8 middle-size potatoes, 8 eggs, 10 inch of smoked sausage, one whole onion, 200g sour cream, two spoons of fat and salt plus a little pepper. You can prepare it so that put the 2 spoons of fat and the chopped onion into a pan and fry them on glassy. Then put 2 pinch salt and 2 coffe spoons paprika to it, but don’t forget to take away outto the fireplace before. Mix the ingredients well and put the sliced smoked sausage and the chopped potato to it and pour a glass of water into it. Mix them and boil the mixture while the potatoes will be tender. After the potatoes are boiled put a little pepper onto the food. Then add the sliced hard boiled eggs and the sour cream to it. You have to boil it for a few minute, and it is ready!
